Although I'm kinda weird - I tend to define Buffy's "soul mate" as Angel, her "match" as Spike, and her "true love" as... well, both of them (although not at the same time).

I don't think she was in love with Riley, to me he was the "what students should be doing/trying to prove she is normal".

Yet more agreement from here - no way was she in love with Riley.
