Bad LOLcat! No biscuit!

Just saw a LOLcat that said (and I quote):

Shakespeare Kitteh dost not approve of thou foul grammar

My eyes! My eyes! *weeps for humanity*

Okay people. Here's the thing:

I ---> Thou
Me ---> Thee
My ---> Thy
Mine ---> Thine

See how that works? (It even rhymes and everything.)

That bugged me too!

(Though maybe it's because LOLcats are ungrammatical in any age.)

It's an ironic comment on people who complain about grammar and end up making mistakes themselves. ;-)

(Not you, obviously. Your grammars are impeccable.)

Also, for the record:

I do
Thou dost
He, she, it doth
We do
You do
They do

I was going to suggest they were being ironic. But beer_good_foamy beat me to it.

Actually 'thou' isn't 'I' - it's the second person singular pronoun (ie, you). Which is still wrong on the LOLcat, of course.

But if you add in an invisible comma, it's better...

"Shakespeare Kitteh dost not approve of thou, foul grammar"

Kinda. Still wrong, but a little better.
