Evil!Angel in love with Buffy would annoy me like nothing else - but this ficlet by snowpuppies is just superb...
Mostly, I think that the closest evil!Angel could get to being in love with Buffy is the sort of mad-stalker-killing-your-friend's-fish scenario we had in season 2 (although I do think he was in love with Darla). And there's no way I can see him actually trying to be with Buffy while soulless - so it could never really fit my favourite couple style.
