Does the rest of the world seriously NOT have lemon lime and bitters?
(By which I mean the
drink
known as LL&B - I'm aware that you guys have lemons.)
o.O
How will I survive?

*g* We welcome travellers and their strange overseas ways.
I admit, the lime is usually used in noxious lager-and-lime mixes, but at least it's there.

Good. Can you remind me how you order a lemon squash? We're talking very lemony fizzy stuff.

In Britain:
"Lemon squash" gets you a bland, non-fizzy drink usually made from concentrated cordial.
"Lemonade" usually gets you a fizzy, bottled or on tap, transparent liquid with a lemony taste. Schweppes and the like make this stuff.
"Homemade" or "old fashioned lemonade" will be cloudy, may be fizzy and may even have seen a lemon within living memory. A bit of a halfway house.
Bitter lemon I think is the same on both sides.
That's all I can think of. It truly is the small stuff that gets difficult!

Heh. Like trying to order water in Germany.
I learnt about six words for water, including just plain "Wasser", and every single one of them got me
mineral
water, which I hate with a passion.
Most of the time, I gave up and got orange juice instead.
(Apparently, the correct request would have been "Evian"...)
