My family hasn't been having much luck with pets lately.

A few weeks ago, my parents' cat Rupert died unexpectedly. And then, yesterday, my sister's cat Max died too.

I'm currently spending a lot of time patting Elf.
(Actually, I'm paying him so much attention that he's starting to look a little weirded out...)

Know the feeling! I lost my Smudge last year, it wasn't unexpectec, she was 17, but really hurt!

So very weird - suddenly I have the only cat in the family.

I felt the same when my dad's rabbits all suddenly keeled over- Hamish was being patted and snuggled and fussed over so much. He was rather pleased with it all, I was terrified.
