You and I, We Fly Together (one hour among many)

Here's a fic.

This was written for still_grrr for the prompt "Winter Solstice", and for good__evil's Dec 08.
I went with a short post-series fic, starring the Scooby Gang - all 12 of them.

dum de dum...

At the moment, in the lead-up to Christmas, work is either insanely hectic, or duller than it's ever been before.

Both of these, alternately, in quick succession.

You see, everyone is frantically trying to get all their work down before the holidays delay everything for three weeks, so we're getting HUGE amounts of paperwork sent in, without any warning.

At the same time, because there's about to be three weeks of holidays, there's a whole lot of stuff we usually have to get done that, right now, can be delayed until mid-January.
So we end up just sitting around, doing nothing, waiting for the next frantic paperwork delivery to send everything insane again.

It's odd, really.

Most of this week has been entirely uneventful, resulting in my running out of stuff to read on the internet, and resorting to reading people's old LJ posts...

Got to mention this...

...because it was just freaky timing.

The sun just... um... went behind a cloud, we think. But it certainly went from dazzingly bright outside to very dark and gloomy suddenly enough that everyone in the office reacted. We all thought the lights had been turned off.

Why do I care?

Because at the time, I was reading this post in sdaleconspiracy about conspiracy theories connected with Apocalypse Nowish - and I'd just reached this line:

It is believed that the US military was testing some sort of device which was intended to create darkness over large areas.

And then the world went dark.


Extremely freaky...
