I've been to Germany. Ten years ago.

And New Zealand, when I was eleven.

And Singapore airport...

The thing is, travelling outside of this country costs a mint. And I've never really been able to afford it. I am, however, dying to see England (and most of Europe, eventually). And Writercon would mean getting to meet lots of LJ people, too!

I'm torn between Writercon + 1 1/2 weeks versus a month. I mean, if you took a month couldn't you then travel a bit more around Europe, too...?

But writing is your thang and it'd be amazing to go to writercon and what if that's the only time you get to go...

You see my difficulty...

But would you be traveling alone if you did the whole month thing? I mean, the plus side of the writercon option is people and writing and that seems like joy to me. But then I'm also a huge nerd who wants to just wander around castles alone and imagine the ghosts of the people who'd used to live there and that's adventure. Though the difference to me is that the places will (more than likely) always be there, so you want to put a premium on your relationships because who knows when you'll get that opportunity again.

And [livejournal.com profile] gillo will do a wonderful, personal, guided tour of Kenilworth Castle as a follow on to WriterCon...

Exactly. I'd normally go straight for doing things alone - but then, Writercon people are people I'd really enjoy hanging out with, so it's harder to choose.
