weekendy goodness
This weekend, I:
- ate a bright green pancake
- watched The Dark Crystal (after many years of many people nagging me)
- met my mother's new chicken
- finished a jigsaw puzzle
By far the most fascinating part of that is the chicken, so...
Apparently, Mum found this chicken trying to cross a major road near her place, and took it home.
No-one else in the neighbourhood had heard anything about a missing chicken. So it's staying at Mum and Dad's place, in a fruit-tree-protecting cage, henceforth to be known as Luxury Chicken Dreamhouse - because it's awesome and the chicken loves it.
She has settled down contentedly under the fruit trees and started laying eggs.
Mum has decided to call her "Ruby". And to get another chicken called "Sapphire". :D
My family is rather fun, sometimes...

"Why did the chicken...."
As for the chicken - well you now know which comes first - it's clearly the chicken as the eggs only came later...
But have your parents interrogated it to see WHY it crossed the road?

Re. The Dark Crystal...I remembered seeing part of it at primary school during a 'rainy day', and really enjoying it. I was fascinated by the puppetry and the story. All the other kids, however, complained and moaned until it was swapped for some crap called "My Science Project". Bah.
So, more than twice that lifetime later, I bought it on DVD...and was so disappointed. The story is just creepy, and no real happy ending, and it was also confusing and weird and those long-legged things were so obviously people on stilts and they died for no reason, and all the little critters got milked and and...
I just didn't enjoy it at all.
Gimme Labyrinth anyday. :-D
You can't beat the heroic Ambrosius.
