weekendy goodness

This weekend, I:
- ate a bright green pancake
- watched The Dark Crystal (after many years of many people nagging me)
- met my mother's new chicken
- finished a jigsaw puzzle

By far the most fascinating part of that is the chicken, so...

Apparently, Mum found this chicken trying to cross a major road near her place, and took it home.

No-one else in the neighbourhood had heard anything about a missing chicken. So it's staying at Mum and Dad's place, in a fruit-tree-protecting cage, henceforth to be known as Luxury Chicken Dreamhouse - because it's awesome and the chicken loves it.

She has settled down contentedly under the fruit trees and started laying eggs.

Mum has decided to call her "Ruby". And to get another chicken called "Sapphire". :D

My family is rather fun, sometimes...

You should so get chickens.

"Why did the chicken...."

I saw the Dark Crystal when it first came out - and caught a small bit of it on TV over Easter - what did you think of it? I wonder how well it has stood the test of time?

As for the chicken - well you now know which comes first - it's clearly the chicken as the eggs only came later...

But have your parents interrogated it to see WHY it crossed the road?

Obviously the chicken crossed the road to get to the Luxury Chicken Dreamhouse.

Lol, you would probably be arrested for keeping the chicken where I live, haha. Although I do remember when there was a rooster running loose through one part of the neighborhood for awhile, and before he was caught by Animal Control, he would crow at three in the morning every day...

YAY! for chicken :D Also, 'The Dark Crystal' is wicked ;) (or at least, I remember it being really awesome). Probably the first fantasy film of that genre I ever watched.

Yay on rescuing chickens! :-)
Re. The Dark Crystal...I remembered seeing part of it at primary school during a 'rainy day', and really enjoying it. I was fascinated by the puppetry and the story. All the other kids, however, complained and moaned until it was swapped for some crap called "My Science Project". Bah.
So, more than twice that lifetime later, I bought it on DVD...and was so disappointed. The story is just creepy, and no real happy ending, and it was also confusing and weird and those long-legged things were so obviously people on stilts and they died for no reason, and all the little critters got milked and and...
I just didn't enjoy it at all.
Gimme Labyrinth anyday. :-D
You can't beat the heroic Ambrosius.
