I really don't see how this is an example of someone commenting that Faith should be back in school. Or in any way related. Would Joyce really be encouraging a young 17-year-old to stay out of school?

Oh no--not to say that she should be back, but as a show of why the adults would be so indifferent. Well, at least Joyce. Of course she'd put Buffy's needs before Faith's. Faith would essentially be a godsend to Joyce, since she wanted Buffy to break all/most ties with slaying.
