Sympathy? Empathy? Apathy?

Commenters on this post seemed very split on whether they sympathised with Kate or Justine (no-one really seemed to sympathise with both).

So I started wondering…

In line with various fannish conversations we've had - would you expect people to, I don't know, all As, or or Bs, because people who LOVE one character always HATE a specific other character, etc, etc?

I was kind of intrigued by the fact that no-one seems to actually like Kate and Justine...
(Both had a family member killed by vampires, both subsequently hate Angel for being a vampire, both are independent women who are good at fighting.)


If I had to guess, I'd expect people who like Lilah to also like Darla - but that's quite possibly bias brought on by the fact that I like them both, and all people who have the good taste to agree with me on one of them will clearly like the other one too. :)

I like them all, honestly! I find Justine really interesting, and I love Kate. I like Lilah a lot - have since way before Lilah/Wesley - and I love Darla. I like Gwen, too!
