busy, so very busy...

I've spent another weekend almost entirely without internet.
This was not a good thing.
On the other hand, I was very busy, so at least I had plenty of non-internet-related things to do...
Friday afternoon, our work had a Christmas party (again). This one included steak, a baby, and lots of tipsy engineers making silly jokes.
Friday night, Karaoke Cat came calling, and actually ended up walking around inside my house, eating Elf's bikkies (and fleeing in terror whenever he caught sight of me).
On Saturday, I had coffee (or rather, non-coffee) with my mother. 'Twas fun.
Then, I went shopping. Or tried to.
Unfortunately, the torrential rain, combined with December meant that every single person in my area wanted to park at the shops. So I ended up giving up and going home...
Instead, I had some friends come over, prior to all of us going out to a party with uni people.
The party was also fun, but I left very early so that I could try to go shopping again.
It now being 10pm, there was parking, so I could easily get into the supermarket - where I bought lots of supplies for Sunday arvo (see: a few paragraphs further down).
On Sunday morning, I was in a church drama. Twice.
I dressed up in a Mary costume (picture pretty much every religious themed Christmas card you've ever seen), and interrupted the person doing the Bible reading to complain that he was doing it wrong.
I did this at both morning services, so I ended up being at church for several hours.
After I finally left, I went home to clean my house for Sunday arvo.
"Cleaning my house" mostly being necessary not because I have a dirty house, but because my brother-in-law is deathly allergic to my cat. So I had to vacuum everything twice, put the air conditioner on full-blast, turn the heater on full-blast to counteract the drop in temperature caused by the air conditioner, and banish my cat to the garden.
Actually, at first he got banished to the kitchen, but whenever I opened the door, he'd be crouched there waiting, to see if he could spring through before I shut it again. So he got let outside instead.
So. Sunday Afternoon.
My entire family was there: 2 parents, 2 sisters, 2 husbands-of-sisters, 2 nephews, and me.
We pulled crackers, wore silly hats, drank port, ate mince pies, had silly prizes, and made an absolute mess. It was extremely fun (not to mention exhausting).
I now have many dishes to do, and will need to vacuum my house for the fourth time in three days. But it was worth it.
