When The Doctor Claire Saunders Variety Hour takes the world by storm, it will include a weekly segment showcasing the eyecatching dance styles of Victor.

(Tim Minear is really quite wonderful.)

Not much to say about Dollhouse this week, apart from one observation.

Now, admittedly, I've only spent much time around three babies, but in my experience...
Breastfeeding babies do not take less than a second to latch on and start feeding. IT JUST AIN'T THAT EASY.

You know, they could rename this show The Doctor Claire Saunders Variety Hour, and I'd still watch it obsessively every single week...

(And also - the ladies on the show have such pretty hair!)

I've just seen the original pilot episode of Dollhouse.

DOLLHOUSE IS RETURNING!

HOORAY!

I am far too excited about this.

TV shows just don't get more awesome than this.

(My runner-up quote for this entry's heading, by the way, was "I'm not a multiple personality! One of my personalities is a multiple personality, but I'm not a multiple personality!")

...and I'm still trying to keep these entries brief, squealy, and entirely non-spoilery. Which is going to be quite hard. But let's see if I can do it.

My favourite things:

- Omega. Especially when equipped with heavy pieces of metal.

- Topher talking about Soylent Green.

- Claire asking Topher about hate.

- Awesome, awesome flashbackiness.

- Cops in a car.

- Madeline. (Madelaine? Madalyne? Mhaidelinne?)

- How very very pretty Madeline was.

- Lollipops.

And just... everything else? The whole lot?

'Cause, seriously, that was one of the most awesome hours of television I've ever seen.

I have a confession for you all.

...one which most of you won't care about in the slightest, and the rest of you will probably disagree with me about.

But here it is, for what it's worth:

I don't think that Dollhouse is morally simple (black/white, good/evil)
- but if it is, I'm on the side of the bad guys.

an insane amount of spoilers for Dollhouse up to episode 11 )

Just...

Victor!

And Mellie!

And FBI chick!

And all the marijuana!

And ALPHA!

AND THE END!

AAAAHHH!

*flails some more*

Come on, next week! Get here now!
deird_lj: (Default)
1) Horses! So many horses!

2) Paul's life is going to get so very screwed up, in so many ways.

3) Julia has rather nice clothes.

4) I rather enjoy Margaret's ideas of what to do when the worst occurs.

5) Topher has the coolest friends.

And that is all.
deird_lj: (Default)
Okay. Adelle DeWitt is officially the most awesome character I've seen on tv for a long, long time.
And I still want her clothes.

I also want to see Echo turned into a cheerleader who shoots people. That'd just be cool.

(And she fences! She actually fences!)
deird_lj: (Default)
I am suddenly an obsessive Victor/Sierra shipper, and (weirdly enough) shipping Echo/November, too.

Adelle DeWitt continues to be entirely awesome. As does her skirt (WANT!).

In other news, the thunderstorm on Friday rendered my computer screen completely useless, and I was left with almost no internet (save for the option of driving down to my parents' house and using theirs) for two days.

I now have a new screen, courtesy of my mum getting me a free one, and despite being free it's actually better than my old one.
So, for example, if I try the ultimate screen-quality test, of BtVS season 1... on the new screen, it looks fine. On my previous screen, I couldn't see a thing.

Yay for computer screens that actually work!
deird_lj: (Default)
Okay. Forget about Adelle's shoes. I want Echo's socks.

...and I also want my very own drawer of inappropriate starches.
deird_lj: (Default)
I am starting to have an enormous love for Adelle DeWitt.

I am starting to have an even more enormous love for Adelle DeWitt's shoes.
deird_lj: (Default)
Okay. Mini-rant for you.

Still not sure where I stand on Dollhouse, but I keep seeing people complaining about it, saying that there are "so many plotholes".
By which they apparently mean "How can the Actives be programmed like that?" and "Why would they be brilliant at what they're hired to do?" and "Why would someone hire an Active at all?"

Those aren't plotholes. They're premise-holes.

a bit more on this, with very mild spoilers )
You might as well complain that "people wouldn't imbue a girl with supernatural strength and send her out to hunt vampires", or that "all the cool medical cases wouldn't end up with the same diagnostic team", or that "six people wouldn't spend all their time hanging out at the same coffee house together", or that "an alien with the powers of time-travel wouldn't fly around in a glorified phone-booth".
deird_lj: (Default)
...but I just had to mention:

That is how one does an authentic Australian accent, people!

(I almost got all excited about a fake Aussie accent being done so well, but then looked her up and realised it's genuine. Drat.)
