Basically, Fox commissioned a 13 episode season. And the DVD people went "Brilliant - 13 episodes! We'll buy that!"
So they filmed 13 episodes.
Fox didn't really like the first episode, and decided not to air it - they'd just air 12 of them. (Those being the 12 you've watched.)
And the 13th one, which they'd paid for (the original pilot) just wouldn't air.
BUT...
The DVD people had also paid for 13 episodes (not including the pilot, because it wasn't airing). So they filmed another episode, that didn't air, but is on the DVD.
It's very different from the normal episodes, and extremely cool. When I get my DVD, I'll show it to you.
Ahh, poop. I guess I'll hunt around for a DL sometime. I haven't ordered a DVD yet. I'll probably be lazy and just ask someone I know for it for my birthday or Christmas. :D
(And, errr, can you watch American DVDs? I thought they had a different Region code, or whatever...)
