Hi,

~~~ “Since you’re obviously going to kiss me, I’d prefer it if it happened before the kids interrupt us again.”
Giles jumped as if he’d been shot. “Oh! But… um… no, I – I mean yes, I’d love to, but – well, you’re not, um, you’ve – you’ve been through a lot of late, and I haven’t… I mean… that is… I didn’t want to presume…” ~~~
excellent, funny, gorgeous and lovely - and what a marvellous thought, that Giles and Joyce would have spent some quality time together - together, and not just because they were stressing over their charges.
I offer you up a quote, used at the end of the lesbian film 'Loving Annabelle' by the poet Rainer Maria Rilke: "For one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks... The work for which all other work is but preparation."
I've actually referenced this quote before, but it does seem appropriate here. They are one of TV's great unrequited couples, and now I can imagine them having each other - if only for a short time.
Thanks,
Ray (kerkevik@btinternet.com)
