If I ever get married, my husband's main duty will be dealing with spiders who want to eat me.

...in completely unrelated news, my housemate's boyfriend is a wonderful guy of wonderfulness, because he came and rescued me from a huge spider on my bedroom ceiling last night, while I sat huddled on my bed and shrieked.

Mezz, if you lived anywhere else in the world, I'd be right alongside you in mocking your helpless girliness.

But you don't.

When an Australian starts talking about a "huge spider" that's capable of "eating her", I take it completely 100% literally. And there's no way I'd be the one to come and rescue you unless I have one of these things:

Yes! In my last house I was the spider remover because I was slightly less scared of them than my housemates. My parents are currently being highly unsympathetic and are refusing to remove spiders for me. Although I'm sure the spiders here aren't anywhere near as bad as the ones that you could encounter.

Honey, that's my sister. I'm pretty sure she knows what a huntsman is.
:P

I think it was more a question about what kind of spider I had on my ceiling - since I didn't say.

(See Mez' reply.)

But thanks for being super-extra-specially-helpful, anyway. :)

You stayed in the same room? Positioned where it could possibly scurry across the ceiling and fall on you?

Gawd, I'm usually to be found at the other end of the house, calling out helpful advice like "don't let it get behind the curtains!"
Btw- was it a huntsman?

That's a fairly un-girly reaction, y'know. :-)

Okay, THANKS FOR GIVING ME FOREVER NIGHTMARES WITH THAT WIKI PIC OMG I'M DYING. Ahhhhhhhh.

Was it seriously that big??? Cause...AHHHHH.

I get freaked out by regular-sized spiders. I think I would spontaneously DIE if anything bigger than my thumb or whatever came waltzing around.

Seriously. There was a moth in my bathroom and I avoided it for like a week, trying to make it not fly around the room, but it did whenever I moved and it was SCARY.

If I ever get married, my husband's main duty will be dealing with spiders who want to eat me. Mine, too!

I'm so freaked out by bugs that I always made my little sister take care of them. I love my sister enough to go diving into a hellgod-opened portal to save her from having to die after giving her a meaningful speech about how the hardest thing in this world is to live in it...but when bugs attack, she's on her own.

I'm glad you had someone to rescue you!

But yeah - huntsmen spiders are scarily large. Don't think it was one of them, though...
