Mez's Boring Office Job
Feb. 8th, 2007 12:53 pmMy feet are killing me, but I'm having a great day.
Invariably, when I told people what I'd be doing at work today, the reaction was "poor you". Followed by "you really are the office lackey, aren't you?"
I don't think they really understood me when I tried explaining that I was looking forward to it.
Here's a summary of my morning:
I walked the length of
- Bourke St
- Collins St
- Flinders St
- Spencer St
- Latrobe St
- William St
- Elizabeth St
- Swanston St
.... and then back up Collins St.
I wore jeans, carried a backpack, and walked around the city. On the way, I stopped in Flagstaff Gardens, browsed at Minotaur and Mind Games, and bought morning tea in a bakery.
How could people possibly think that would be annoying/boring, and that I'd rather sit at my desk all day reading files?
As for the actual "work" component of my morning, all I had to do was walk up to tram stops, press the button that says when the next tram arrives, tick it off in a folder, and keep walking...
