standardised tests
Feb. 20th, 2007 12:06 pmAfter four days of a horrible cold, I'm back at work. Yay!
As a new(ish) employee, I've been sent a personality test to complete. I just finished going through all 106 questions, and deciding which statements I "agreed" with, or "strongly agreed" with, or was "unsure" about... you get the idea.
Anyway, there were two questions that I found rather amusing.
The first was a question asking whether I "tend to have strong opinions about things". I thought it would be kind of ironic if I said I "strongly disagreed" with that...
Then, there was a question asking whether I "tend to over-analyse problems, in an attempt to find the perfect answer". I thought about this for over a minute before I realised that:
-there were 106 test questions
-I had needed to "skip" over 60 of them, and come back to them later
-out of the 60 I skipped, I then skipped 4 of them AGAIN, because I still couldn't figure out my answer
-the test that was supposed to take about 15 minutes had taken me almost an hour
-I had just spent a couple of minutes trying to determine whether or not I over-analysed simple problems...
