Please note: I do not say who the relationship is with. “Unconventional” pretty much rules out… um… Xander?
Oh, thank god. I mean..who? Me? What? -glances around-
I considered it at the time, but as I saw it, Giles would be much more concerned about Dawn and Willow’s ability to cope with his death.
Makes sense. The first time I read this I remember being a tad confused about that, but that really does seem logical.
Weird Buffyverse languages tend to involve more than their fair share of capitals and apostrophes…
As they should!
But it just seemed very Giles-like that he might be madly in love with a woman… and thank her for being a good secretary.
That never even occurred to me, but now that you mention it, that would be a very Giles-y thing to do. Hee!
I loved this piece, and it's interesting to see how you put it together, and what you thought was important to include. (I'd actually considered writing something for the "dead letter" challenge after reading yours, a Lilah or a Cordy letter to be specific, but I just had no idea how to go about it. I lack your organizational, big-picture prowess. That, and I'm a lazy, lazy person.)
Anyway, thanks for writing this commentary, darling. It was fun to read the commentary, and to see the fic again. I really do love this piece, it's just so perfectly Giles.
(Also, I want to know who your two 'equally fun options' for Buffy's relationship are, that you mentioned in your comment to lavastar.. I'll give you a cookie?)
