But... It's Such A Fun Title...
Aug. 4th, 2007 04:33 pmI sometimes forget just how odd I am.
After all, I tend to hang around people who are fairly similar to me, so I start thinking of my interests as normal. It simply doesn't occur to me that other people don't think the same way.
Yesterday, I was at a training course, and while I waited for it to start I read one of my new books: "Amo, Amas, Amat, and All That". It's a book on Latin grammar, and it's really interesting and really funny.
The other people there were bemused (to say the least) by my choice of reading materials. They couldn't understand
a) why I wanted to learn a language
b) why that language would be Latin
c) how a book on Latin could possibly be amusing
Until yesterday, it hadn't occured to me that anyone could not want to read a book on Latin - especially one called "Amo, Amas, Amat, and All That"...
