Gah! I had been meaning to get around to the remix fics before they revealed the authors, but oh well. I probably wouldn't have been able to guess anyone's anyway.
I really like the way you turned this one around, especially with little details like Dawn's Anya comment becoming retribution for Xander invoking Buffy in a similar situation. Dawn is just heartbreaking, having assumed she's second-best and determined to be okay with it. While I like Xander/Dawn as a pairing, I hate the thought that Xander is just settling because he can't have Buffy - because Dawn deserves so much better than that - and so I felt the same way Dawn did in realizing that he does want her.
I also thought you did a really nice job with Dawn's characterization, capturing that awkward stage where she's trying so hard to be mature and grown-up while still feeling terribly childish sometimes (and it doesn't help matters that she's finally getting her childhood crush requited, which causes all sorts of silly reactions).
