When I was living there, my housemate made me wait for a repairman to fix it and when he arrived he looked at me and said, "Right, well, I guess I'd better teach you how to use your oven" before showing me why we hadn't turned it on properly.
And when my hubby was housesharing, his housemate got him to wait for a repairman because it was pouring smoke and the chap looked and said, "How about you try cleaning it?"
