So...

My backyard apparently has to have a huge hole dug in the middle of it. And lots of bits of pipe have to be dug up. And it's going to be hugely messy and expensive.

And in the meantime, we're being encouraged not to use more water than necessary - so, mainly, no washing clothes. Or rinsing toothbrushes. Or washing dishes. Or flushing toilets. Or showering.

I'm really hoping this gets sorted out soon...

Hey, I had to do that for TWO MONTHS while they got around to fixing a leaking pipe under the slab...
Routine was something along the lines of:
Get up. Have empty buckets/pots ready. Run outside, turn on water. Back inside, shower, fill buckets/pots. Turn off water. Use buckets for filling toilet cisterns during the day, flushing only when it gets too icky... :-/ (I found if it's only wee it can be left for a few days without flushing, but it gets smelly after that...). Fill kettles, cooking pots, jug for drinking.

Get home in the evening, turn on water to fill up hotwatersystem which heats overnight. Turn off water.

Have fuuuuuuun!
