I HAVE A NEW LAPTOP!

It's a Macbook Pro, and it's so pretty, and shiny, and wonderful!

Err... not that I've actually turned it on yet. It's currently busy getting the battery charged.
But I drove home last night with it in a big cardboard box next to me, patting it affectionately whenever we stopped at the lights. I'm so excited!

Now I can actually chuck out my old dumb computer that keeps doing things wrong, and use this new one instead.

And it's so little! And sleek! And funky! Woo!

Unfortunately, I left iWork 09 at home today! But that's not such a big deal. I might pop back to my place first and then come to yours to make sure you have it asap :-) Otherwise, we'll come up with some other arrangement because it's quite simple to install once you have the disc.

Heee! So I recall.

I don't use Microsoft Word anymore - my laptop was being a virus-ridden bitch, so I had to take everything I wanted off the computer and put it on an external harddrive, wipe the computer's harddrive, and then put everything back on. Which...for some reason resulted in no longer having Word, and me not wanting to pay for it or whatever, downloaded Open Office. It's much nicer, generally. Although when I'm doing like numbered lists, it's like, "Oh, you're doing a list! Here, I'll indent it for you!" And I'm like "...I am making a list, but I don't want it indented..."

But then I just make the list with tildes and fill in the numbers later. I am sneaky!

And ooh, you're gonna vid! How fun! You will have to post those here. *stern look*

Just read your Microsoft Cooks post, btw, and am crowning you queen of the analogy. I really don't understand Office AT ALL. I've actually managed to trace back most of the problems in my life not to Vista, but to various Office features that seem to be created just to mess with me. (Like the "amusing" irony that using the autosave function in Word actually makes the program crash more often.)

Not entirely sure what I'm going to do with the old computer once I get my files off it and onto the Shiny Shiny Mac Of Shinyness. It's really old, but still does stuff... sometimes...

Well, have fun! It's excellent fun, even when it's murderously frustrating...the end results are just so rewarding to watch. :-)

Keep it, as backup...Y'never know when your new one may die and you need something to get you online again until it's repaired...
