...and we've hit 30 degrees.

(That's 86 degrees, for you Fahrenheity folks.)

I am suddenly wearing summer clothes, carrying round a parasol (yes, a parasol), letting the breeze flow through my house's open windows, staying in the shade, and wanting ice-cream.

If this was the height of summer, I'd be fine. But it's only mid-spring. I'm not going to survive February.

ETA: now 32 degrees...

And it's creeping closer and closer to cold here (well, at the moment it's doing that weird hot/cold/hot/cold thing that produces all those lovely tornadoes, but that won't last long). I feel that it is absolutely necessary for me to cross the equator. 86 sounds fabulous to me. Can I crash on your couch?

Indeed you can. I'll provide the vegemite on toast, and the barbecue. :)

Fab. I'll bring loads of Luzianne tea bags to make sweet tea with so that we can keep cool. Also, I make lots of different kinds of pie! We shall dine well.

Well, at least now you have a little evaporative cooler for your bedroom :-)

Today wasn't the big one for me. It was yesterday, with the rain and the heat and the mugginess and the absolute zapping away of any energy I might have had. Stupid weather!

Just before 4pm, it was 31℃ near us and 23℃ in the CBD. Grr. I want a cool change. Now.

I am working nights, so trying to sleep in this kind of weather...so not fun!

And now, it's dropped by 10 degrees, and yesterday I had to switch from shorts, tshirt and barefeet back to jeans, jumper, and socks.
Argh. I do not know how I will survive Summer. A friend told me it's predicted to get up to 50C.
FIFTY.
At that point, all the electricity stations will fail from airconditioner-overload. :-(
(Actually, our power regularly fails in the warmer weather, thanks to dodgy country power supply)

Fifty?!

Ack! How the heck are we supposed to survive that?!

I have no idea. I hate to think what it'll do to all my plants...and in that case, our animals...I think the bunnies would move indoors for a few days!

You. Have Got. To. Be. Joking.

*refuses to believe it*

Nope, she said it, and seemed prety convinced. Of course, I have no idea where she got that number from...
