...and here they all are.

The teddies:

(left to right: Baby Teddy, Newspaper Teddy, Calico, and Teddy. There's also Grandfather Teddy, who lives with my mother, and Bear, who lives in my car.)

The foreigners:

(Both bought in Germany. The owl is called Wolle, and the mouse is Diddl - as are all soft toy mice of that variety. Diddl is a national institution.
The reason my finger is intruding into the frame is because Elf kept jumping up and inspecting them, so this picture was taken while trying to fend him off with one hand and use my camera with the other.)

The random ones:

(2 rabbits, a possum - sort of - and a hedgehog. The hedgehog is called Heddy (I was an imaginative child) and the others have no names, as far as I can remember...)

The cat:

(He was feeling left out.)

The Aussies:

(This is Kanga the Kangaroo. And her baby boy is Joey.
Actually, she's Kanga the Second. The first Kanga-and-Joey were lost on Boxing Day, a day after I first got them, so Mum - who is wonderful - tracked down a new set.)

(This is Carla the Koala. And her baby girl is Carlene.
Carlene and Joey are best friends.)

(This is Prickles the Echidna. His nose is lopsided.)

(This is Wilma the Wombat. He is male.
When I was 12, I found out that the pig in Charlotte's Web is actually called Wilbur, which explains why everyone thought Wilma was a girl's name despite him being a clearly masculine pig - but my Wilma is a boy, named after a pig, and will remain so.)

(This is Cookie the Kookaburra. His wings are attached at the back, but he can still fly if you flap them up and down over his head.)

(This is Baa and Maa, who are sheep. I won them at Sydney's Wonderland, by tossing tennis balls into a bucket five times in a row.
Baa has two ears that stick up, and Maa has one ear up and one ear down.)

(This is Snuffles the Possum. He has a tail that can be bent in just about any direction, and wrap around doorhandles, and so forth.)

(This is Hermione Emu. And yes, the lack of "the" in the last sentence was intentional. I normally call the others "Kanga", and "Snuffles", and "Baa", but Hermione Emu is always "Hermione Emu", with the "Emu" on the end.)

(This is Platrick the Platypus. He's currently in the middle of an ongoing feud with my cat - who tackles him every time he makes an appearance.)

...and that's all of them.

So, the question is, should I buy the Tassie Tiger I saw in the soft toy shop the other day, or will he try to eat the others?

OH MY GOD! So much cute!

For a split second I thought the cat was stuffed and thought: "Wow, that's realis-Oops."

Of course it could well be stuffed... There are some weird people on the net...

Or so I've been told, usually by me... (shushes himself for giving the game away...)

:-)

oh, and AHHH!

Still under Willow & Tara's spell,
Ray.

Awww! My faves are Prickles and Platrick.

I only sleep with one anymore - but I should post pics of my stuffed critters sometime, too.

So... do you carefully tuck in all the soft toys in your bed at night, and then go to sleep on the floor because there's no room left in the bed for you?

No, although I used to!

These days, I rotate them round. I have one with me for about a week, and then switch.

I love that you're even more geekily organized about that than I could have imagined. :D

Yes! You should definitely buy him! He can sleep on the shelf away from the others though.
Also, the White Rabbit (which I had totally forgotten existed and almost woke my son by reacting to the reminder of its existence) was called...wait for it...'Little White Rabbit'.
And the fuzzy one? Laney may correct me here, but if memory serves correct - 'Fluffy Rabbit'
Not as imaginative as Platrick. I always loved the Little White rabbit - velvetty soft he was. And I used to poke my fingers inside the Fluffy Rabbits ears 'cause that felt cool.

Oh, adorable!

When I was a kid I had so many toys and Beanie Babies and such that it was practically impossible for me to get into the bed. Gradually they got phased out, but I still have my Very Special doll somewhere. And I sleep with a Moshi now, cause really, what's sleeping if there isn't some sort of thingy to hang onto?

Of course, I roll around a lot in my sleep, so it often ends up in the trash can by morning. :)
