Public Transport Drabble
Jun. 8th, 2007 09:43 amFor the un-initiated, a "drabble" is a piece of writing exactly 100 words long.
The train waits for no man. And so I run, even in my heels. Tearing past other potential passengers, I fling myself down the stairs, pausing only to grab a newspaper. Well, if that lost second means I miss my train, I'll at least have something to do while I wait the extra twenty minutes. Better late than bored.
It's a daily ritual. Never changes. You'd think that I could schedule better. That I'd leave the office a minute earlier, and wouldn't then have to rush. And that is, indeed, my plan. But I always end up needing to run.
No, it's not perfect. But it's exactly 100 words, and I'm SO proud!
Sidenote: in an attempt to shake off the second-most persistant stalker I've ever had, this journal will be friends-only until further notice.
