Ack! Quick! Someone post a fic at AO3! We're level with Harry Potter, and they're about to overtake us!
WE MUST NOT BE DEFEATED!

In other news, it is December 1st. So I am busily decorating my house with lots of Christmassy stuff. Once finished, I must post photos...

I am trying! Ficlets keep failing the bulk upload! I suspect sabotage... *dark looks*

Definitely sabotage. I reckon SGA and Harry Potter have teamed up to take us down. *gets pitchforks and flaming torches*

(And I'm now picturing the SGA characters teaming up with Order of the Phoenix to take down Voldemort... Hmm...)

Well, I've done a couple of dozen, but there's something odd with the coding after the latest fix (and I'm running out of fics). Changing my name seems to have bolloxed things up a bit too, sigh.

I wish I knew the SGA characters more than a couple of names; it's like being fandom-impaired. How can there be so much fic about this?

Largely because Rodney McKay is the most AWESOME PERSON WHO EVER AWESOMED.

Plus, from what I've seen, SGA fic tends to be cracky to the extreme. It's not just "Rodney and Zelenka fall in love", it's "Rodney and Zelenka start talking only in quacks (continuously, like they're suddenly ducks) for months on end, thus falling in love because they're the only people who can understand what each other are saying". Seriously - that's what the SGA fandom considers a normal fic. So they tend to be able to produce some fairly entertaining stuff.

Plus... Rodney. Seriously. He's just that awesome.

For instance...

It stands for "Archive Of Our Own" - which acronyms* into "AOOO", or, to look groovier, into "AO3".

It's been in open beta for a few weeks now, and the BtVS fics are currently the second largest collection on the archive (behind SGA *shakes fist*). We've all been frantically uploading stories so that we can get to the Top Fandom, but of course all the other fandoms are uploading things too...

* Yes, I just invented a new verb.

Just uploaded 18 stories at A03! Buffy total is right now 1377, with Harry Potter at 1362. Woot!

(SGA has 1500, but at least we're ahead of Harry Potter.)

*quietly waves a flag for SGAwesome*
Though admittedly, I've been mainly horrified/pukefied (they do *what* with my characters??)/ headdesked-at-bad-grammer-n-speelingg when trying to read fanfics, so just can't make myself any more, I'm sorry.

Yeah, some fanfics are pretty appalling...

*waves Buffy flag defiantly*
