You know what would be a fun ficathon?


1) Choose a Jo Chen cover from season 8.
2) Write a fic that has nothing to do with the plot of season 8, for which the cover would still make sense.


Not sure how you'd get a Dawn-as-centaur plotline that had nothing to do with season 8, but still...

Dawn watched the episode of Charmed that's on TNT right now. Then she went to bed and had a nightmare. Only she didn't dream she was a mermaid because the Charmed girls remind her of pre-Sunnydale Buffy and she *knows* she's not that flaky. So she dreamed she was a centaur instead because they're like noble or something.

I'm imagining a whole Ancient Greek mythology AU, where the orphaned heroine Βυφφεια is being raised by the wise elderly centaur Γιλεσ (Chiron's brother). A group of magical Galatian druids want to protect the Key from the vengeful Titan Γλοριφικοσ who was imprisoned on Earth by the Olympian deities centuries ago, and needs the key to escape. So they send the key to Βυφφεια and Γιλεσ in the form of a step-sister, a young centaur named Ἕως, so Βυφφεια will protect her.

Xena may possibly make a crossover appearance. :-)

Oooo! I'm imagining the Buffy/Fray Chen cover as a dreamscape battle where they're falling through time, through Buffy's time, through the desert, through Fray's time. But this is because I've been watching a lot of Doctor Who, so time travel possibilities and anomalies seem fun to me.

Whoever wrote for the Spike cover for #36 would have a lovely time writing a story that described the expression in his face.
