Murder Mysteries and Weekend Adventures
Aug. 17th, 2008 08:17 pmOkay. Doctor Who, Agatha Christie, and Felicity Kendal? That might just be one of the greatest combinations in television history.
All in all, I counted 6 books sneakily referenced in the middle of conversations, plus another 3 books talked about specifically.
Plus they had the whole Revealing The Murderer scene at the end! And cyanide! And jewel thieves! And Professor Peach killed with the lead piping in the library! And Donna kissing the Doctor just to give him a shock!
That was awesome!
I am madly in love with Donna, and her ability to solve problems through her brilliant powers of secretarying...
I've had a good weekend.
Friday night, I went to see
roccondilrinon acting in Sweeney Todd, which was extremely entertaining.
Then yesterday, I went to the hills with Mum and my sister (and Caleb). We got to see a lot of shops that I really need to visit when I have more money, and had lunch at the pie shop. I had a pie floater, which was very... different. (For non-Aussies: by "pie" I mean meat pie, and by "pie-floater" I mean meat pie in a bowl of pea soup - very popular in Adelaide, but not something you tend to find in Melbourne.)
Of course, I was still pretty bruised from yesterday's shenanigans, and my leg gave up halfway through the day, so I spent most of the evening hobbling round my house with a walking stick.
Which is ironic, really, because a couple of weeks ago I was using the walking stick because my other leg was playing up.
And today we had a birthday party for my (other) sister. It was really fun getting to see Alex and Caleb playing together. I see them both fairly often, but usually by themselves. This is the first time I've seen them in the same location for quite a while - now that they're both talking and running around together, they're incredibly cute. I could watch them for hours.
...and the weekend concluded with Doctor Who. Which I've already talked about. So, that's about it, really.
