DANIEL CUT HIS HAIR!
Finally! I have been waiting for this day for months now. Being much more used to Publicity Photo Daniel than to On Screen Daniel, I spent a lot of the first season being freaked out by him having the wrong haircut. And they left his hair like that just long enough for me to now be getting freaked out by his far-too-short-and-unDaniely haircut.
Mind you, I can see why they gave him the original hair. Not just because he had to look like James Spader - but really, Michael Shanks with non-fluffy hair looks too Spunky Hollywood Actor for words. Without the hair and glasses, there's no way anyone watching would have believed that he was a science nerd.

This season contained such delightful episodes as:

Into The Fire
Jack almost becomes a Goa'uld, and then tries to bluff his way off the planet by pretending to be one.

Seth
A cult! Lots of SG-1 people looking stoned! Sam's father (who rocks)!

Fair Game
The most ridiculous peace treaty of our time - the Goa'uld agree not to attack Earth, receive nothing in return, and then spend the rest of the season still being a threat anyway.

Legacy
Daniel goes crazy! And fun is had by all!

Learning Curve
Super-kids with nanobots in their brains, learn the power of playing tag and drawing flowers. It's all very touching...

Point of View
More alternate reality people. Can I just mention how extremely fun it is that every single alternate reality Carter ever is in a relationship with Jack O'Neill?

Deadman's Switch
An Evil-But-Good-At-Heart Bounty Hunter. Fun, but not really that suspenseful.

Demons
SG-1 does medieval Europe! And enlighten yet another grateful civilisation.

Rules of Engagement
Hundreds of fanatically loyal soldiers, willing to give their lives for the cause, see their error and start following SG-1 the moment they see  a recording of their leader looking scared. Grrr. It really frustrates me when they keep doing that. Couldn't at least one of them maybe claim that the recording was a fake? Or something?

Forever in a Day
Insanely confusing episode, because Daniel spends the entire time hallucinating, and it's really hard to tell whether scenes are really happening or not. And I mostly didn't care anyway, because Stargate trying to be dramatic and heartbreaking never really works as well as they'd like it too...

Past and Present
You really couldn't come up with a cooler follow-up to Prisoners than this one.

Jolinar's Memories
An episode consisting mostly of Sam having weird memories and not wanting to talk about them.

The Devil You Know
Go Apophis! He's much less dead than he's supposed to be, and makes the episode much more interesting than it should be. Mind you, that was a really dumb plan for seizing power.

Foothold
Bugs who can impersonate people take over the base! Sam looks insanely paranoid! Daniel as Sam in disguise! Jack swinging around the room in a harness unable to get down! Yay!

Pretense
A trial to decide whether Skaara can get rid of his Goa'uld or not. Which I didn't really like much, purely because Skaara bugs me. But Jack yelling in a court room was fun.

Urgo
An episode I watched three times.
Invisible Pavarotti makes snarky comments, and eats pie. Sam walks through the base apparently talking to herself. And grumpy corporeal Pavarotti agrees to adopt invisible Pavarotti, and they both live happily ever after. What's not to love?

A Hundred Days
Jack is stranded on the asteroidy planet, and falls in love, while Teal'c tries to drill his way through from the Stargate. Call me crazy, but I could have sworn that Teal'c was hanging onto the rock by a harness attached to the top bit. The top bit which he's drilling through...

Shades of Gray
Jack starts stealing weapons, proclaims a whole bunch of opinions completely opposite to his old ones, and somehow no-one suspects he might not be telling the truth...

New Ground
Two continents with some truly ridiculous issues concerning the Stargate, and SG-1 spend most of the episode inside tiny cages.

Maternal Instinct
Daniel meets a buddhist monk, and finds enlightenment... in about a day. And even though enlightenment comes complete with telekinesis and weather control, he doesn't think anything's wrong.

Crystal Skull
Daniel goes invisible! And really, really snarky, which is extremely entertaining.

Nemesis
Thor and the Replicators - I knew they had to turn up soon. Apparently, the Replicators are big spiders made out of blue meccano.
...and we have yet another cliffhanger. I'm really getting sick of those.

At any rate, this season did NOT have a flashback episode! Things are looking up!

Doesn't he just? :-)
Hey, you can meet the man himself in Melbourne in a few weeks if you wanna come with.... :-D

I love reading your recaps. Makes me want to rewatch it all again...especially after having rewatched Window of Opportunity now...

Toldya you'd like Urgo! :-D

I really like Skaara though- the only actor to go from the movie to the series! Alexis Cruz is such a nice guy too...

Urgo is awesome! I really want to watch it again, now...

Yeah, Skaara just bugs me. He's supposed to be all innocent and excited, and it really doesn't work very well.
