I think I'm going to spend this lunchtime doing some urgent clothes shopping.

I was possessed by an insane desire to wear a skirt this morning - and discovered that, of my six nice work skirts, four of them no longer fit. At all.
The fifth (bought several years after the others, so it's still okay) was in the laundry waiting to be washed.
I'm currently wearing the sixth, and having quite a bit of difficulty breathing...

It is, I'll admit, nice finally being one clothing size, rather than different sizes for pants, tops, skirts, dresses, and jackets.
But why oh why couldn't I have gone through this growth spurt a few years ago, when I was first buying work clothes?

You're lucky that you're having a growth spurt- the reason I currently don't fit into clothes I bought in the past two years or so is that I have yet to rid myself of my extra Winter kilos...they stack up quite impressively.
Damn, I was obviously going through a skinny period when I bought some of my shorts! And they're the ones I had to buy as I no longer fit into my other ones...
Sigh.
My other half finds all this most amusing. Just 'cause he never puts on weight, ever.

Yeah... I've kind of done both.
A bit of extra weight, plus my hips have gone and widened. Either one by itself would just make my clothes slightly tight - but both together means I can't actually put them on at all!

On the other hand, I now actually fit into standard clothes sizes. This is new and exciting...

Your hips...I could make jokes about you now having 'good child-bearing hips', but I won't. That always seems a supposedly nice way to say 'gee, you're wide!', imho.

hehe...no more kiddies sizes? How depressing for you. Enjoy being in the grown-up world of...erm...14 and up? (or whatever adult sizes start at- it seems to change all the time...I fit into anything between a 10 and a 12 in pants, but also my size 14 from primary school, when I was a stick-like gal...and tops are differently sized again. Argh.)

Well, it was mostly the fact that, at one point a few years ago, I would buy size 8 dresses, size 6 tops, size 12 pants, size 10 skirts, and size 12 jackets...

It got a bit ridiculous, really.

I've gotta get a suit for job interviews soon, and I've been looking around. And the entire time I can't help but think.."What would Lilah wear?"
