There was a big thing with snowpocalypse where the news started mentioning that, in Scandinavia, people had triple-glazed windows and it was just *gasp*. Although, we do deal slightly better with freakily cold winters than we do with freakily hot summers, because, although we try to some extent with the cold, air conditioning is a flipping joke...

I once saw someone from Europe saying that the English don't have double-glazing because they want to give the wind a sporting chance. :)

*snort* I like that! Although we do have double-glazing... Often! *flicks cold certain to look mournfully for a moment out of her single-glazed window*

I should point out that August in London is often unbearable. The temperatures of 30°-plus wouldn't phase an Aussie, I expect, but there's also the humidity, the air pollution and the almost total lack of air conditioning. January is much more pleasant. :-)

30? Pfft. *handwaves*

(But yes, winter would be lovely. And allow me to escape 40 degree days down here.)
